Joe Paganelli moved to San Francisco shortly after college graduation and dove recklessly into his first experience in the entertainment business at Bill Graham Presents (now Livenation), a decision that would result in a 12 year career producing live concerts.
Promoters are tough negotiators and Joe learned from the best in the business. By 1998, he was managing the legendary Fillmore Auditorium and booking two concert series that would uncover the likes of Third Eye Blind, Buckethead, Om Records, Incredibly Strange Wrestling, and Train.
At the age of 30, he was named General Manager of The Fillmore Auditorium, and held that position for five years. Thousands of bands came through and it was an amazing ride.
In 2006, he moved to Los Angeles, where I apprenticed under established music supervisor Kevin Edelman (Metalman Media), working on “Criminal Minds” and “My Name Is Earl.”
Joe Paganelli started in the TV Music Creative group at Sony Pictures one year later. During this time I placed songs in “The Beast”, “The Unusuals”, “Justified” and “Hawthorne” and worked on “Damages” and “Rescue Me,” among others. I began supervising outside projects and developed a catalog of 20,000 pre-cleared songs for all media from 50 North American independent boutique labels and publishers, perhaps one of the only collections of it’s kind in Los Angeles.
In 2010, Joe Paganelli was introduced to Jason Kadlec by their mutual friend and Topspin co-founder Shamal Ranasinghe and is currently leading business development for DTF Works.
